Maggie Bennett is a Certified Professional Midwife licensed by the state of California, and is the longest continuously practicing home birth midwife in Monterey County. She has been a practicing midwife for more than 25 years and has attended hundreds of births for families in our community. She is well-respected in the midwifery community and has served as Chairwoman of the California Association of Midwives (CAM) and has represented her region on the Board of Directors of the Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA). She continues to be active in her professional organizations and participates in peer review. As a senior, experienced midwife she passes on her expertise and wisdom in the time-honored tradition of apprenticeship. She is a well-known midwifery educator and maintains a teaching practice in which she has mentored numerous midwife apprentices.
